This is such an important win for conservation but as I mentioned yesterday, we aren't done. Next up, I know in working with @joel_webster_mt at @thetrcp that the @usinterior has talked of opening landlo ... cked sections of public lands through acquisitions and easements, such as purchasing a parcel of private land to open currently inaccessible public lands to all hunters and anglers. This would be great, but it can only get done if there is money to pay for it. We need the Interior Department to see their access aspirations come true by advocating for strong funding in the federal budget to open and expand access to currently inaccessible public lands. •
And, we also need funding for public lands roads and trails maintenance. The administration’s budget generally carries a lot of weight with Congress so with focused efforts and their support we could get this done. I think under Zinke's leadership we have a great opportunity to make lasting, positive strides in regard to public land and conservation.
